1. you need linux kernel with -fno-PIE

3. download linux kernel 4.4.35
4. https://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.4.36/
5. get
linux-headers-4.4.36-040436_4.4.36-040436.201612020543_all.deb
linux-headers-4.4.36-040436-generic_4.4.36-040436.201612020543_amd64.deb
linux-image-4.4.36-040436-generic_4.4.36-040436.201612020543_amd64.deb
6. dpkg -i *.deb
7. change kernel during boot

you can always recompile linux kernel on your own
linux source 4.4.x downloads : https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/xenial/+package/linux-source-4.4.0
